FROM JAMES LIMBORG: After my first year of guitar lessons with my good friend Drew Kabanuk, I spent the next 3 years learning the guitar by listening to Van Halen tapes and trying to play the guitar parts exactly like Eddie Van Halen did on those albums. I figured if I could learn Eddie Van Halen's difficult guitar style, I would then be able to learn other guitar rock music with ease. For the most part that was true. For example, learning guitar rock music from AC/DC I can learn fairly easy, but trying to learn guitar rock solos from Steve Vai are next to impossible for me. It's most important to come up with your own style, but there's something about Eddie Van Halen's style of guitar playing that I like so much that I am addicted to playing something he's created every time I pick up my Steinberger guitar. I love his guitar playing style. At the same time, I feel Steve Vai is a guitar God. Steve Vai is so amazing at playing the guitar as well as Eddie Van Halen.
