"In my early years, when I was between the ages 17 and 20 (1987-1990), I recorded many songs and instrumentals with my VistaFire 4-track tape recorder (My first recording device). At that time, I was a pretty good
rock guitar player, I could play the drums ok, and I had no idea how to write a song. Boy was I excited to get my first piece of recording equipment. I started recording on my new VistaFire 4-track by copying other peoples music (Van Halen, television theme music, etc.) and then slowly started to create music on my own. When I met Leroy Wolfgramm of MCA Records, the Jets in 1989, he taught me how to play the keyboard, program a drum machine, and how to write songs. I created a lot of song ideas (music in song format, but with no vocals) using my 4-track and eventually started writing lyrics and recording my voice singing to my music. I've always considered myself a rock guitar player and didn't have any interest in writing lyrics or singing, but a song isn't a song until it has vocals, so I started learning how to write lyrics and sing. My music genre (songs, instrumentals) include pop & rock, guitar rock, reggae, hawaiian, island music, blues, country, and sometimes with humor added."

Keyboards: Casio keyboard, Roland D-50 Linear Synthesizer.
Acoustic drums: My ludwig drum set.
Drum Machine: Alesis model HR-16.
